Fake agricultural products hinder farmers

Several farmers in Uganda are crying foul , following the influx of fake agricultural medicine and chemicals on the market.

Many farmers have incurred losses after using fake medicine to treat their animals and birds. The products cannot work to the expectation of the farmers while seeds to do not germinate.

The most affected are the chicken and animals keepers who frequently use medicine for treating and immunization of their farms.

Uganda National Bureau of Standards has has no capacity to fully monitor the standards of products on the Ugandan market. The situation has been worsen by corruption and double standards by some public office bearers.
